Problems with Movie Clips

Hello,

I am "trying" to create a drop down menu in flash.

I'm trying to get the movieclip "dropdown_mc" (a fading in drop down menu) to launch when the over animation for my button has stopped.
I have tried : _root.dropdown_mc.gotoAndPlay(2);
also without the root.

Please can you help?

I can send fla is nessicary.

p.s. how can I get the buttons which appear to not dissapear as soon as the mouse rolls off the original button? A new hit area??

you haven't give an specific information. No one will be able to help with what you provided. Have you searched the tutorials? I believe that is an example there.
