I'm finally buying myself a legitimate copy of Macromedia Studio!

I'm tempted to buy Studio MX because it should be a little cheaper, but mostly because I can do Actionscript 1.

But then I'm tempted to get the shiny new version, Studio MX 2004! I've heard so many horror stories about it, though!

Here are my questions:

1) Have you had any bad experiences with Studio MX? What happened?

2) What happens with the code when I open my MX projects in MX 2004? Can I still use it?

3) How is MX 2004 Actionscript? How different is it?

4) Are there any nice new features in Flash MX 2004?

Thanks!

Do you realize Flash and Studio 8 will be out in about a month?

AAK! Another one? I feel so behind. So what are they changing in this one?

Go to Macromedia.com... they've got ads for it all over the place, with "previews," etc.

I'd suggest buying a legit copy of flash, or similar, then upgrading it to Studio8 for $399.... gotta be cheaper than paying $999 up front.

Ah okay. I probably won't get that one.

So the most important question I still have is "Will the code in my old projects work in newer versions?"

Of course. MM has always been pretty good about keeping backwords compatibility.

If you decide to turn on AS 2, you may have to make some changes... case sensitivity and such.
