Hi,
I have been trying to search for an answer on this question for a while now. I have come across a couple of tutorials that showed me that I can do this via two swf's but here's the situation:
I have produced a CD which runs a flash projector file (exe). I need to the projector file to send some variables to a website. I want the website to use those variables and do what it needs to do with them. I know how to do this part. The part which I have no clue on is this.
I need the website to send / pass variables back to the projector file (exe) and I need to be able to use this variables to accomplish certain tasks within the movie.
I know there are security hurdles here, but is it possible to send variables from the internet to a projector exe file running on a client machine? Will it depend on what browser is being used to view the website that is supposed send variables back?
I am by no means an expert in server side scripting or in flash but if someone can point me in the right direction I can learn.
Thanks in advance for your time.
