Animated Wire

Hi I am trying to make a animated wire. I want the wire to go through the hole and into the other hole. (see the uploaded picture) Can anyone tell me how to do this. I have flash mx 2004. Or if it is possible on any other programs plz tell me.

Edit: The wire and holes are png files in seperate layers.

You can use a mask tween (create a mask layer and make an object move off to the right so the wire looks like it is extending) and for extra realism have the wire loop a simple sway motion (so it looks like it is dragging across not just materialising).
