best way to cut file size of png sequence?/preloader?

Hello, I need HELP!!

whats the best way to cut the file size of a png. sequence animation.

Can i use xml to link to the jpg's so they can not be hogging up my library?

and whats the best type of preloader for this?(need help or examples with this)

You can only load jpgs using the Loader component, so pngs must be put into the library. You could always make a movie clip that holds the pngs, then have a main movie clip that has a preloader to load the png-holder clip. At least then you would have a progress bar.

is this a long animation? If so, you would probably be best off using Flash video

its a template that i bought from advanceflash.com its just a cloud animation that repeats. but there are about 75 png's..would it be better to turn them to jpg's..and i dont know how to do the preloader that links to the other file
