Continuously loop in background tutorial help!

Hi everyone, I have a question about the continuously loopin background tutorial. The tutorial only covers how to make the background loop - not how to have a static image on top of it. I tried to download the fla file but it only came with a swf. (There's probably a way to extract the fla from a swf but I'm such the newbie it's not even funny..)

A thought just occured to me. Should I make my entire looping background-dealy into a movie clip?

To have a static image on top of the looping background, create a new layer and make sure its higher then the background. Place the static image (or any other symbol) in this layer.
