Are both the movie clip and button present on stage when defining the handler?

yes they are...

e button inside e MC is motion tweened and in e rollover frame inside e button is act a MC..i suspect that its must b 1 of the above reasons...

i tried puttin an event handler on e button itself and it surprisingly works...

im juz curiuous 2 knoe why i cant make it work from main a... :)

I'm on MX only... So if you do manage to upload your zipped .fla, make sure it's in a MX only format, not MX2004.

You'd have a better chance of getting an answer if your .fla was in a MX only format, and zipped up.

You would have to save a copy of your MX2004 .fla, (using Save as...) and changing the Document type to MX only in the Save as... window.

He'd also have a better chance if he typed like he was on a proper keyboard (you know, *english*), and not a mobile phone. Lordy, those posts give me a headache just reading them.

It's all about the way you have constructed the movie, by the looks of it.

Have a look at the corrected, attached file.

Also - it has nothing to do with age, it has to do with being able to communicate like a normal human being. Maybe you think it's cool or whatever, but typing like that make you look like a retard.

hmmm...so in conclusion what you are saying is that in some cases theres no other way but to put the event handler on the button itself...ok

thanks eveyone for your help!!! :)

btw Rossman, 2 us its e total opposite ;)
to each his own...
