help! browser messes up SWF?!

Hello,
I am creating a relatively complex flash program that involves loading xml from a webserver and displaying objects on screen. My problem lays in the fact that when I run the flash file in the flash application things work properly. However when I view the same file in a web browser nothing works(animation off, sizing of animation isn't correct, and it only progresses through one iteration of the program loop). Does anyone know of settings that I could change so the flash animation looks the same in both environments?

I can't exaplain that. If the dimensions are wrong try changing your publish settings via Ctrl Shift F12 in Flash. But why the animation would go slower and everything else would go wrong is anybody's guess.
