View Full Version : Not your typical font problem

Hey there folks,
I've recently added a lot of new fonts to my C:\WINDOWS\FONTS folder, and for some reason, my Flash MX is pretending that they are all just different names for the default system font. This is strange because Photoshop recognizes the fonts just fine. Why would Flash have this problem?

Did you install TTF files???

I simply placed the files in the fonts folder. Many of them were TTF.
Strangely enough, when I rebooted my machine, Flash started recognizing the fonts. Hooray!

Fonts have to be installed!

Well it seems as though they were since they all worked upon rebooting. If they hadn't been, why would photoshop have recognized them while flash was still treating them like defaults?

You do not need to reboot the whole computer... You just need to run the Flash application again so that it will read the font list again... I think that's the same case with the Photoshop...

That makes sense. I don't remember for certain, but I do think that flash had already been running when the fonts were installed and that I opened up photoshop just to test when Flash wasn't reading them properly.
