Hey,
I am making a presentation in Flash which I will hopefully write to DVD. Heres the problems I have encountered in the past and would luv to hear anyone's thoughts if they've figured out the best process.
First of all, the client doesnt care if its Flash exe or DVD, just as long as it looks good and runs smoothly. I am more comfortable in Flash than Aftereffects or Final Cut thats why I chose Flash.
I have a selection of video and still images to animate. This is combined with many vector animations on the stage. I am using Flash 8 (really enjoying the new features, especially the new video capabilities).
As many of you will know, you cant export to Quicktime if you are using flash player 8, it must be 5 or below, so that cancels out Quicktime, as I am using actionscript and video that only works in 8...
When I export to AVI the file is massive and the video appears upside down... anyone know why?
The main reason why I am even thinking about going to DVD is that I have noticed that Flash plays quite slowly trying to render the animations and this must be fast and smooth... In the past when going from flash to DVD with basic Flash animations it really sped up the video.
Ok, a few more questions: Has anyone gone from DVD using flash 8 and what settings did u use for the AVI? Or can anyone recommend a tried and tested Flash to Video software tool?
Will animations in MC's play when rendering to video?
What about scenes? Will a movie made of numerous scenes render as one video file or stop at the end of scene 1?
And if the final DVD must be full screen, what's the best stage size to use in Flash?
Id luv to hear anyones thoughts on this process and the best way to go about it.
Thanks so much.
Robert
