I have embedded some Flash 8 content in an HTML page, but when I try to view the page on a Mac with the Flash 7 plugins, I don't get a prompt to update my Flash Player... Instead it displays only bits and pieces of the Flash content. The strange thing is that PC's without Flash Player 8 prompt me to update immediately and don't display any of the Flash content, which is ideal. I thought the problem might have been caused by a strange install of the Flash Player 7 plugin, but the same problem happens on 3 different Mac machines. I tested on Safari and IE for Mac. How can I ensure that these computers will be prompted to update versions? Most of my visitors will be Mac users, so this presents a fairly significant problem...

Essentially I am using the <object> and <embed> tags that Flash generates to detect my player version. I have tried some of the detection script tutuorials, but they don't really seem to do the trick... any suggestions?

Thanks.
