View Full Version : templates ?
I wonder if there is any kind of special/god "thinking" (way of doing) if you want to build your Flash site with some kind of "templates".
My site will not use a serverside script and I will not use Generator. But I want to make my site as dynamic and "tight" as possible. If you have som tips, ideas, tutorialtips, things that would make my site more "template-built" etc, I would be greatfull!! 8-)
Thanxxx!

Hmmm....
I never felt that templates were a good idea for many reasons, the most important being the lack of creative processes from yourself.
I've found that THE MOST IMPORTANT thing I ever learned so far is to design the site on paperway before ever touching the keyboard or mouse. This will resul tin the tightest work you can produce because many of the problems will present themselves right away. I often find myself repeating myself in Flash when I use it as my scratch pad.
You can design tons of layout styles on paper, they take about one second to draw out.
If you REALLY want to be cheap and uncreative, I recommend hitting the open source section and derive your inspiration from there. Believe it or not, some people actually steal these .flas and simply change the colors around and maybe some graphics!!!
My english isn't very well, but/so I don't think that you get what I realy wanted(?)
The question wasn't about "templates" for the ideá- and graphic process. It was more a question about the thinking behind the programming.
I have been in several projects where there is some small adjustments in the layout of the content... "the textfield should lay ten pixels further to the left" and so on...
If you have built it with some kind of a template-thinking then you just have to change the template and all of the page that uses exactly this template will adjust in the same way...
I agree with you, about that every kind of template let the creativity go down, but in this case it is for an e-learning aplication that have to be very easy to update and easy to change.
Tanks anyway... it could also be me that I didn't understand want you realy ment!? 8-)
