Problems with Event Dispatcher when in browser

Is there any documented issue/bug/quirk that could explain why a project that makes heavy use of event dispatching would work perfectly in the Flash player (i.e just launching a .swf file directly or in test mode in flash), but not in a web browser?

It's like the order of things gets scrambled and everything falls appart. Maybe there's a set of tricks to tackle common issues here?

I'm hoping...
