Is there a way in Flash to interact with external audio. Have your movie react to the beats of sound coming in through the audio input.

www.vlight.to did something like this with director. any odea where I should look to get started?

so far, and as far as I understand flash does not have capabilites to understand anything else but sound fundamentals such as volume, panning etc. It cannot differentiate frequencies which would be necessary. Im not sure about flash 8 yet, but I have tried lots of things with previous versions without any success worth mentioning.

Director has through [extras] these capabilites.

If you find something I dont know, please post it here.

Cheers

Not with live music... But possible through data files...

That is a very interesting work-around. Thanks for that.

I have always been trying to do it with a microphone LIVE, but it is still a very interesting thing to look into regardless.

Looks interesting. That might get me underway with the analyzing-sound part. Thanks
