Hello! Newbie here!
I do hope I'm posting in the right section!

I've never used Flash before until about 36 hours ago and now, thanks to alot of books and online reading I have a site that contains a variety of movies, music etc everything that I want!

There's just one small problem that involves text.

In the .fla file I'm working in, the text I've typed is spaced completely different to what is displayed in the .swf file.
My spacing is 8 and looks great when I view at 100% but when I view the .swf (or Test Movie) the spacing is exactly the same as if it were spaced at 0.

TEXT settings:
Text Type: Static
Font Size: 12
CHARACTER SPACING: 8
Character Position: Normal

I've also tried it with Auto Kern and Used Device Fonts on and off.

I've looked for the answer to my question in my books, on the web and in previous posts on this site but I've not found what I'm looking for.

I hope someone can help.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help will be appreciated

JDB

P.s I'm using Flash MX (not 2004 or 8)

Are you using a static textfield or a dynamic textfield?
