Hi all again.

Thanks someone which made me discovery this forum; kind people, able coders, competent answers.... I hope times of unanswered questions were ended....

Well, it's wonderful how F4/5 can interact with html, nowaday; now it's possible to do almost anything with Flash. For example, to change the bkg color of an html doc and save the preferences within a cookie.
But what when I need to set the cookie in order to go to a certain user-predefined frame (thus, flash2html. In general, how to refer to anything to store within a cookie?)?
I mean, let's us assume that I've got a series of buttons, each going to a given lebeled frame onpress event; how to achieve the storing via cookie of the last frame entered thru a button, so that the user will be redirect to that label/frame each time he'll will enter the page?
And let's us assume that I wish to store also the name that a user inputed within a subscription form (thus, html2flash), in order to show it in the swf each time he/she logs the page (possibly with a greeting message and some text effects)....
I guess anyone of u geex :-) can solve this as drinking water (for I smell that for coders it would be a simple matter in itself, but I'm an artist, moreover I admit I'm a rookie in Flash, I'm not so able with formulae, unless someone able w\ them will tell me about; then I'll make humble experience of what I've learned, and I'll do not ennoy u anymore in theme :-)....)....

Cheers all.

great job! that's incredible!
my questions was posted 11-03, but ZERO answers after a week! my compliments!
i. e., why do u ask to post tutes' questions when u got no intentions to answer them?
i know, u r'nt constrained to reply, i'm not the only one which u gave no answers, maybe u got no time, maybe just a week isn't very long time to wait for, or, better, u got no answers to give about; but in that case, at least drop a line to say "this is impossible to be achieved" or "we don't understand your question" either, so people can dismiss any hope to found an answer.
sorry for this externation, nothing personal in it, but i guess to render also the thought of anyone which questions has never been answered....
bye....

As you can probably understand we're very busy. I only reply to tutorial request threads when (1) I know of an existing tutorial or (2) I've figured out how to do it and will do it myself.

Since I've been too busy to write tutorials recently, I've not bothered replying saying "I can't do this yet because I don't know how".

There is a backlog of tutorials which are to be done first (first in best dressed). Furthermore we live real lives too. Jobs and Uni, and we give our time and advice here for free, but we can't dedicate all our time to the site.

If I, or anyone else finds a way to do it, we will reply.

Cheers

Jesse

hi, j..

1st thanks 4 your reply.

i'm writing you from here just for one reason (i didn't wish to bother you via mail, and from the other side i've thought that also remainder users would have been aware of this reply, also in order to do not misunderstand the real meaning of any targeted query); what i've written within the forum i did just for stimulation's purposes, due i really think and i still think that your forum's useful (a friend suggested me to finally get into here; previously i'd never thought that forums were useful), differently from what i've found in both usenet ng's and other forums (i frequented actionscripts.org since good times, but i've subscribed here right a week ago. i'd never received any useful/kind reply to my questions posted on usenet ng's such mm.general.italy due there people seems too kidding stupid to be kind; e. g., a question posted 2 weeks ago, to date never answered although many other less interesting was promptly replied; that poisoned my theet).
btw, that's a "stimulation" also 'cause i've specified that perhaps you didn't answered yet due u was busy or didn't yet found any answer about (from the other side, now i'm aware that what i've asked weren't simple)....
i'm not a developer, i'm just an art-director/project manager; this means that whilst i can chew some flash/js/dhtml besides graphic/concept issues, i still remain within a directing stage rather than a developing one. just gimme an idea to scratchpad, and i'll do u develope something excellent.
however, it's good to match at least a motivation for the silence (a motivation that coincides with one of my guesses); btw, it could be a useful idea to track kinda status of yours via some icons (such busy, answering, and alike) besides your moderator's labels (i guess this would be an innovative feature within a forum); this may prevent any unsolicited postings like mine (that was a TARGETED one, nor an inconscient one).
i ever felt pain everytime i've matched any empty threads on other questions; i've felt alike about mine then. hope the real meanings of my externation were clear to u now; and i hope thsi will be of lesson to others. please don't be worried about me.

i wish u all the best, and please remember that i still rank u very fine.

friendly,
c.
