storing input text into an external file

im currently trying to make a scrolling shout out box and was wondering what would be the easiest way to store input text into an external file?

ie: What external file would I use?
What code lang would I use to do this?

I want to be able to call that text that someone has writen in and show it as scrolling text

You can use PHP/ASP to store data to a textfile. You can use PHP/ASP to store data to a database. In your case, PHP and a textfile. There are plenty of posts here about saving data to a text file, plenty of code to look at. Just search the forums.
