View Full Version : Mac power problem - I have a deadline and I'm desperate!

I appreciate that this isn't a suitable forum - but I'm at the end of my tether!

My Mac G4 was switched off at the mains, while still on, and now it's not starting back up.

I've tried pressing the power button, but it just glows while my finger is on it, and stops glowing when I take it off. It doesn't start the machine back up.

I then tried taking the power lead out of the machine, incase it 'held
any charge', and then put it back in after a few minutes. I tried again
but it just glows up and glows down again, as described above.

Does anyone know if my Mac is eternally screwed now, or is it
salvagable?

Any suggestions would be HUGELY
appreciated.

Cheers.. Jimbob.

Reset the PMU (google for it). And ask this on apple's discussions forum (on their site).

thanks! - will google that now, as I have no idea what it is. Also, didn't realise that Apple had forums. I thought the only route was to spend £35 on Apple support over the phone..

cheers.

Hey jsebrech, can you tell me where the forums are on the Apple site?

Cheers :)
