This may or may not be difficult but I have never attempted anything like this. I would like to create an effect where one picture is blurry and another picture of the exact same thing is directly behind the blurry picture and mask it so it looks as is something is sweeping along the image and making it more clear. An example is when you are in a 3d program rendering something and it makes scans along the image making it constantly more clear. If you have any insite how to do this I would be grateful.

Thanks

What do u mean exactly ? Sumthing like 'focus' ? (1 object clear, the rest increasingly blurry dependend on distance from the camera, for those who don't know what I'm talking about)

There's a masking tutorial in the F1-help in Flash. Your effect would work the same.

Do you mean like the way Bryce renders thing in passes?

I think what Ricod was alluding to might be your best shot. I'd set up a series of masks that wipe on one at a time and thereby revealing the other image. This would work for those blocky first passes .. but It might be a fair bit of work if you wanted to make it like the final render pass in Bryce though!!

how do u mask from 1 image to another, do you just make one pic a background and the another a masked image?
