I have been working on one "HUGE" project for the past 5 months (almost 5). I got paid for "phase I" about 1.5 months ago not to mention, I had to learn asp.net from scratch...dang client wouldn't except php. I almost done with "phase II." Anyway, is this taking me forever? What would your estimated time be on creating this.

a complete flash/asp.net intranet including:
draggable folders, custom desktops, openable conferences(forums) and a complete admin control section for users(7 levels r anging from guest-systemadmin)/conferences/forms/conference groups(folders)/instant messaging/internal mail system and accepting external emails to email addresses created on the fly(this was very difficult) that become messages in "conferences." AND, a message searching system, a user directory system and all the bells and whistles.

then phase II was
a web site to hold phase I and have complete customization optiosn...links, logos, sections, icons, news, calenders and a vendor promotions section...very intricate and used the same database as Phase I.

Seriously, how long would this take you? By yourself...I'm starting to feel very slow, but I'm actually closing in on the end of this thing.
I swear, some days I work 7 hours, somedays I work 14 its crazy.

Honestly, even being an ASP guy myself, I'd probably be on the same timeline you are. It sounds like a huge project that was never meant to be done by one person. And having to learn ASP.NET didnt help matters...But its hard to estimate time on projects like that because there are so many unique issues that would come up, and probably with some interesting bugs...Dont stress it, just stay on track and get it finished. Besides, it sounds like a sweet gig to add to your personal portfolio.

Man, I'll tell you, asp and asp.net are two different things. I never learned asp, skipped right over and learned .net, but I tried using and asp script the other day and tweaking it for what I needed, but that was a bad idea. Same concept, but syntax is not the same.

They may have a good bit in common, but I don't feel like spending the time to find out ;O)

I guess for me the .NET change over was easier, considering I'm a microsoft guy....I can hear the boo's now...but dont stress it, you're project sounds right on track....and if they complain, just tell them, "hey, you want it done, or done right?"

I would probably be on the same timeline, but I get lazy with server side scripting.
