Flash 8 suitable for hires rich media applications?

Hi all,
I was wondering if Flash 8 is practicable to create rich media application at large resolutions (at least 1280x768) with intense use of flv videos at this resolution as well?

Depends what the client machine hardware is. If you are deploying a projector/exe on a PC you control, you can run some pretty high res stuff if the PC is pretty high-spec.

If you are developing something for deployment to the web, where you have no idea how much horsepower a visitors PC has, you might not have much success if users with slow PC's hit it.
