Hey friends,

I am in the market for a new cell phone. I love my service with Verizon. I get great reception, I always have a signal, and I never get "busy" signals when I try to call out. However, their prices for phones are just too high. I was thinking of switching to T-Mobile.

So who is your carrier and do you like them?

See ya.

I had nextel, then sued them.....they suck horribly...I currently have verizon, had it for 2 years now...only complaint is the cost of those damn phones. My sister has T-Mobile and hates them worse than nextel...

First, they tripled billed me, then my contract was up and went to a different carrier, they tried to hit me with an early termination fee...So I was fighting them, they sent a negative report to my credit report, and I sued....the law agreed with me, I didnt owe them jack...and they had to clear my report...

i lived in nyc for 3 years and had verizon i think, i canceled my contract with them after around 3 months cos they had me making phone calls to people in Cali ~ even when i didnt know hardly anyone in the country. then they were on the news for doing this to loads of people :|

Thats what nextel was doing me.....I'm not saying verizon is perfect, but a better experience than nextel.

Well, where cota comes from you could have probably sued them for anything that wasnt the slightest bit normal ;) ;)

Cingular here. Decent for me reception wise everywhere except for in my basement of my house for some strange reason. I think my house is being blocked by something.

Anyways, I have heard good and bad things about every carrier including Verizon, Powertel, Cingular, AT&T, Sprint, Nextel, etc. It really depends on where you are for which carrier will give you the best reception.

I have Satan. *cough* errr...Cingular. I spent 3-4 hours arguing with them on the phone last month. They charged me 220 bucks for roaming charges that all occured in the state I live in (I have coverage of most of the southwest US). The guy finally took the charges off my phone, but I just got my bill this month, and the charges have magically re-appeared.

Cell phones have a method of customer service that comes in different waves:

1) The first wave is the person you get when you call them after waiting on hold for a while. This person will not be able to help you. They are the first of many who can't.

2) You get transfered to the next person, who's english is not very good. This person is there to get your frustrated and confused. They want to tire you out by having you repeat yourself many times. Obviously, this person cannot help you.

3) You get transfered to Pakistan. This is the testing of your patience, but you must endure this pain. Communication is nearly impossible at this juncture, and whatever you do... don't let them hang up on you.

Rinse and repeat the previous steps any number of times until:

4) This time you get transfered to a very friendly representative. They are very chipper and understanding of your frustrations. They offer to help you in exchange for your continued service. At this point it is VITAL that you do not enter into another contract. This person is a con, who uses their cunning friendliness to lure you into their deathtrap of trumped up charges that will suck the blood from your carcass. I say carcass, because at this point you're a dead man talking.

If our community gets big enough, we could do away with phones and communicate the old fashioned way -- passing notes person to person. How's that for teal-time text messaging?

Or make a massive forum and call it actionscript.org ;)

They sound like voice machines, but I know they are real, because they speak to me.

I justed switch to nTelos. They are a little cheaper than Verizon and have better deals on phone. My reception isn't as clear, but that could be a result of the new phone: Nokia.

Yeah, I think Telstra has a service like that.

I wouldnt mind a new blackberry, you can send emails and blarg on those things so that would be useful when away from home.
