i wasn't sure if i should post this here or in the animation and effects section:

You have to use the attachMovie method, theres a tutorial on this site check it.

Create a MC with three different heads, turtle-head, elephant-head and dog-head. Create three buttons that gotoAndStop each different frame. Repeat this process for all necessary body parts.

An MC is a Movie Clip.

To clarify a bit further:

Draw a dog's head. Select it. Convert it to a symbol. Make sure it's an MC. Add two more frames to the timeline. Put keyframes in each new frame. Replace the dog head on frame 2 with an elephant head. Replace the dog head on frame 3 with a turtle head. Create a new layer (don't add any keyframes). Place 3 buttons off to the side in this new layer. First button has the action gotoAndStop(1). Second button says gotoAndStop(2) Third button says gotoAndStop(3). Create another layer called Actions. Place a Stop() action on the first frame of the Actions layer. Repeat this process for all body parts.

There are better ways, but this is the easiest I could think of.

i read it, tried it, but after what you explained i cant understand how to do it: do i use the same frames, or others?
if i use the same, i loose the efect...
can you pls explain it after the first set of heads?

i understand you made 2 MCs: one with body and head and another with legs
then you put them in a scene
and that's it
i tried to to the very same - create the MCs and so on, but doesnt work
IF a use YOUR MCs, it works
Can you help me out of this?
