Connect dll file to flash

I need to connect a dll file to flash. I have no idée how to do this. I need to send a value from flash to a dll file and get a new value back from the dll file. I don’t even know how to create a dll file.

i'm not sure but i've heard my coleagues saying that they work with asp.net and retrieve data from dlls... my guess is that you can't do it directly, only through an intermediary, such as PHP, ASP for web apps or C#, Delphi for desktop apps

to the best of my knowledge that would be correct....I dont think flash can call a DLL directly...
