Hello all. I teach high school video production and am introducing flash to students who vary from no experience to somewhat experienced. I posted an assignment to complete a web page with four pages, all in one scene. We will work through the tutorial which comes with the book: the web kite web site.
the assignment is posted at http://www.cchspublications.com/ ..the video crew link ... then show guide link if you care to check it out, and/or my website.
Any suggestions for projects or lesson plans that have worked for you if you teach flash? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I remember my first Computer Literacy classes back in middle school. That was the last time I touched a Mac! I remember having to make a five-frame animation graphic in BASIC. It took DAYS to code that out by hand. Back before the days of cut and paste!!!
Major kudos, Mr. Schwalm. Hope your class goes well! I would definately have the students walk through the first lessons that Flash provides in the Help menu. That's where to get a start on object types and tweening. Beyond that, I'd say stick to the basics. Delving into advanced actionscript might be a bit much for kids who haven't had any programming experience. Maybe offer that as a bonus?
I'd also collect some links to other Flash sites out there that are designed well. One of the major problems with Flash is that people pick it up and make a site that says NOTHING... it's just a useless web-widget. Try to instill a sense of purpose and direction in web design using Flash!
Heck, you could have them come here and post up if they have any troubles. We'd help out! *grin*
Again, kudos and good luck!
