I've noticed (and have been deleting) a lot of duplicated threads since the new boards have been installed. Why is this? You'd think they'd have protection against that by now.

Hm... Ain't got a clue... Are you talking about the 'intended' crossposts by the users??? That's something Jesse has to take a look one more time if that's the case...

In the mean time, just delete the duplicate posts permanently... I don't see any reason to soft delete the duplicates... It's just a waste of space in the database... :(

same post, same forum. I soft delete in case anyone else is performing the same duty on the other thread (thereby preventing the permanent deleting of both)

Well... Okay... I'll delete one of them if I ever see you doing the soft delete... ;)

Well... I am sorta trying to not promote the AS tag for now since it seems like we have problem with copy/paste the code in the AS tag... Hope Jesse will fix that soon... :)

I may have an answer, the crossposts in the same forum section may not be the users fault. This has happened to me on a few occassions. I'll reply to a post, hit submit, the page errors to page can not be displayed. Hit reload, and it appears as if your reply never went through, so you reply again, and poof, duplicate post. This may be happening to some of the people starting threads as well. As for same post in different forums, well thats just evil crossposters at work.

I thought it might be something like this but I really only noticed this many after the forum updates. I mean Im deleting around 1-2 a day now. Before it was maybe once a week if that.

I never had that problem until the upgrade....I guess its as they say, its the cost of progress..

One of the reason why you see more these days, senocular, is because I've been lazy... :D
But, yeah, I do see multiples more often after the update...

Same thing here, as with Cota.

I just delete them whenever that happens.

Well... I'd spend that time to yell at other users for crossposting rather than deleting them manually... :(
The problem is that this happens without the user actually knowing it... That's where the problem is... Dang vBulletin... :(

So when is this new system suppose to come out...the Gforge one?

CyanBlue

I ain't got a clue on that... I think Strok sorta told us about the time frame on the new system(not gForce thang though) but my brain is not remembering it... :(
