I am importing a AVI into Flash and it is giving me the error "The source file Acrobats.avi contains video in an unsupported format and cannot be encoded."
I converted this into a mpeg and got the same error.
Any ideas?

Do you just have the AVI file or do you have the source? It could be from the export options if it was made in Avid or Final Cut

Ok, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your video file. I was able to convert to FLV using Riva FLV Encoder 2.0, and I was also able to import the MPG directly into Flash8 itself without any issues.

Thanks for your help on this.

Do you want the FLV I created from the MPG? If so, what size, bitrate, audio quality, etc do you want - please specify and I'd be more than happy to help.

I dont need any audio but if you can send me the FLV at the original size that would be great. I have been trying to download Riva but the company I am working for has it block.

http://www.therossman.org/misc/acrobats2.flv should do you right.
I did that as a High Quality Flash 7 encode, with no audio. Let me know if you need it in any other format or whatever.

Looks like I have the same problem here.
Can you please encode my video to flv for me?

Without audio, full quality.
If no, is there any free software for encoding a video file to swf/flv?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the recommendation.
But that was a trial software and it put a disgusting banner in the video file.
Any free trial/demo software that allows several full video converts?
