I have a component which has a Live Preview when you change the label on it or the color of the label. This label is a dynamic text field and autoSize works just fine in runtime, but I would like it to work in Live Preview. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Kevin

Or, if not, how do you get the component to resize in live preview? I've read lots of great articles on the subject but it seems as though the "bounding box" around my component doesn't get bigger when the component calls draw() or size() and rearranges itself. It is a button and when the text gets longer or shorter it needs to become longer or shorter, however if you make it longer than the initial size of the button "pill" it cuts off in live preview. It works just fine when you publish it.
This problem is really taking up too much of my time and I can't see any solution. I hate to say this but,... please help!
Thanks,
Kevin

I don't think there is any way around this issue. Live preview will only show where the bounding box is. Everything else gets cut off until you publish it. This has been my experience when making components.

I'm starting to fear that is the case, Scottae. However, if Macromedia got it to work for their components, then there's no reason we shouldn't be able to do the same thing. I just can't seem to figure out how they're doing it in their class files.

I don't know what you mean?

Actually, I apologize. I was under the impression that Macromedia's button component resized the way that I was hoping I could get mine to do. I stand corrected.
