I finally bought Flash 8 today and installed it. The first thing I did was set up my panel layout for my machine with two monitors. I placed my timeline, script, info, alighn, etc. on the right monitor and saved the layout, gave it a name ("Michael") etc.

When I relaunched Flash 8 only the timeline was on the right monitor, everything else was on the left monitor.

When I select WINDOWS > WORKSPACE LAYOUT > MICHAEL nothing changes, I have to drag my panels over to the right monitor just as if I had done nothing.

has anyone else had this happen?

Hi there,

I have the same problem, but haven't come to a solution yet ...
If I find one, I'll let you know

OK, I think I got it.

In the Configuration/Workspace folder (Mine, for example, is located at C:\Documents and Settings\Michael.CDOTSDELL\Local Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash 8\en\Configuration\Workspace\) you'll find an XML document with the same name as the layout name that you gave in Flash 8.

in the "panelframe" nodes you'll find at least one that has the attribute monitor="1", delete it. Save the XML and relaunch Flash.

I have Flash set to open no document upon launch, when I do open a document it does the layout correctly now with my stage, library and properties on the left monitor and script window, align, colors, etc on the right monitor. The timeline appears to just stay whereever it was the last time I closed Flash, which is cool by me.
