Hi All,

I'm looking at the prospect of developing a customizable presentation which will loop repeatedly on an LCD display. I'm looking for a rather large display -- along the lines of 32" -- and everything on the market pretty much supports WXGA resolution or nothing via VGA or DVI inputs.

So, my concern is what resolution I should be developing this presentation at. WXGA is 1366x768, and that makes for one huge mother of a stage in Flash. Has anybody had any success in developing an application at this kind or resolution without having a supercomputer running the thing?

Of course, my other option is to develop it at a resolution more along the lines of a DVD's resolution (720x480), or even just halve the display's resolution and go with 683x384, but I'm concerned about just how bad bitmaps are going to look.

Anybody? Anybody?

Thanks in advance!

I had a similar issue a few months ago for a museum kiosk. The lcd in the kiosk was running at 1280x1024. I considered the typical options (working at half this size and scaling up, etc) but in the end I just went with a 1280x1024 stage. It was a bit of a pain, but I think the end result was worth it. You'll just be zooming in and out of your stage a lot, or on the other hand, maybe this is the perfect excuse to upgrade to that 23" lcd you've been dreaming of ;)

:) Ah, don't I just wish. *lol*

But thanks for the input Mike. Glad to know that someone out there has had some success with it...
