Hey everyone thanks for putting up with all my questions...
I have finally finished my site please have a look - and pass your judgements - I've listen to most and have done what I can to make things better
If the majority give it the thumbs up I will place it online properly and finalise everything...
Please give it a rating out of 10 and give me some feedback

Thanks

hi dips, i like it. you just changed these two things that i really didnt like. the >G after the download countdown, and just left the site with one logo (you had one at the bottom...) and the music is nice.
like it

thanks goliatone - somebody said to me that they didn't like the colours - hmmmmm I actually like them so I think I'm going to stick with them - to be hoenst I just want to get it finished now
I need to touch up the music and touch up a few more things and It'll be good to go - somebody also said to use the same font throughout - what do you think?
I embeded the "go" button - as I tested it on another computer and found it wasn't embedded also the logo which I had at the bottom - some people could see it - if viewing on a bigger screen res and some couldn't so decided to make it a plain gradient

dips:
i think the logo at the bottom left was a nice touch. i would recommend putting it in the bottom right corner with html, over the background, rather than as part of the background picture like it was before.
if you need help with the html or setting up the gif, let me know

yes please invader that'd be good have a look at my source file...and see how it'd work with that - as some people have said not to have the logo in the bottom corner - although I did like it

can you post an image file with just the logo in it? if you want, just upload the image you used as the background, and i'll trim it

goliatone...invaders going to show me how its done - fingers crossed there's a way of doing it without CSS - i.e. editing my HTML code as I havn't got dreamweaver up and running yet + CSS freaks me out

would have responded sooner, but.... work..
so i was happy to see you sent a PSD, that always makes things easier. it's good to have a copy of the logo over a transparent background, so you can easily put it on any background color.i didn't preserve the yellow glow, but you can add that if you want. attached is the htm file, swf, original logo, logo on transparent, background image (without light pixel at the bottom), and a gif file containing the logo that will stay at the bottom right.

oh, and i made the CSS change i recommended to you before. didn't know you were opposed to css until right before i posted the changes (i did the coding this morning and touched up the logo just now). the way it is right now works, but it's your site, so you can change it back if you want.
when i viewed it full screen on my work computer (1600x1200) i could see the very top of where it would be repeating.. you could extend the height of the image, or just leave it the way i'm sending it, which will work at any resolution

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh thats how it works - thanks invader really appreciate it
- just wondering about still having that logo in the corner hmmmmm to me it looks a bit weird having two logo's as in one on the main site's .swf and one on the bground i dunno
It'd make sense if I didnt have a logo on the .swf
hmmmmmmm
I'll have a play about with it tomorrow as staring at the computer will make me go blind
:oS - I'm probably going to actually publish the site tomorrow aswell (hopefully)
thanks again

I'm not opposed to CSS as such just don't really know much about it - but like all things I have to learn I suppose - heck I didn't really know much Flash before hand and now I think I've learnt loads

one option for the bottom right corner logo would to make it stand out less, like a watermark.
if i have a second before i leave work, i'll send you something to show you what i mean

ok, the image i made looks like crap, but it's just a proof of concept for the watermark idea. take the attached file, and put it in the same directory as the htm file (overwrite the on that's in there)
it'll look better with a higher quality image, i just don't have time right now to do that for you. it could probably also use some color tweaking.

ARGH .gif's are really really bad at dealing with transparency!
I've tried .png files and they don't work - .gif's look very very messy

Guys I may have been beaten - I've tried endlessly to get the logo looking right however because I can't use .png files the logo looks very very messy using .gif and for this reason I think I'm going to leave the logo out of the bottom corner - although part of me things its better without the logo in the corner
hmmmmmmm

Is there any reason why you have deleted this thread???
You might have created the thread, but there are all other people who have contributed to the thread and this is not yours alone anymore...
If you really want to delete the thread, get permission from other people who have contributed onto the thread, otherwise, this thread stays open... :(

it may be that the link does not work anymore
For that kind of stuff, I try to just remove the links to my site like this:
LINK REMOVED (http://#)
But i leave the thread up. It can still have valuable info in it.

I agree... As long as the reply does not say 'your site xxx', it has its own value and anybody can learn from it...
If you don't want any more of the site traffic, just remove the link as Flash Gordon said and we are all happy... :)
