just wanted to thank billy for all the help he's gave me with loading in external swf's to my site.

been a long time sorting it out and he's stuck with it all the way, with lots of emails.

anyhowz i know have a loader that will load in external swf's in a specified sequence but at any time the user can request an swf out of sequence. this will then dump the current loading file and load the users request. once this had loaded it will resort back to loading in sequence any swf's which haven't yet loaded.

might even knock up my first tut if ur interested jesse/stok?

so thanks again billy

u are a star, and i owe u big time

(ps. thanks to all the peeps here)

that sounds like a great tutorial, and something which is always being requested in some form...

i have tried to implement something like this in the past without success and end up using other methods which do not 'stream' in this fashion and therefore offer ther user with larger downloads for items they are potentially not interested in..

if your tuturial does'nt get the vote, i would very much like to see how you guys accomplished this...

cheers

hi maccer

:D thanks for the comments bud. as u found out, the site isn't fully up and running at the moment (although it says it is). did u find it ok to navigate?

also i've not implemented the 'click to request external file' yet but i can't see any reason why it wont work.

at ur request i will sort out writin my first tut for the loader so i'll keep ya posted.

i studied furniture and product design but after leavin uni am finding it real hard to find the funding to manufacture any furniture so i'm concentrating on smaller products at the mo. im hoping to get the cd holder manufactured in the next couple of weeks (just a few details to sort out).

my main interest is interaction. i like to make products/furniture that are flexible and that is where flash comes in. i believe that the more someone can interact with something, the more attached they will become to it. it becomes part of them.

cheers

Hi bleeda,

its interesting that u should mention flash interaction in terms of our immediate enviroments..i am actually also very interested in these connections.

at the moment im working on some pieces which i plan to become installations as such.

using audio and video which is reactive to users as they perhaps walk around a room... [early dayz yet..more of a hobby if which gets less attention than i'd like]

keep me posted..and your in london town which is a bonus!!

you working in the city then?

i work for a research company :( (job i fell into at college and desperately trying to get out of it) on pentonville road, between kings cross and angel.

ur project sounds really interesting. i've went this exhibition once that when everyone moved and walked round it created different sounds on all levels and another room that was more intimate where u wore headphones and created sounds for urself, was well kewl.

u in london 2?

Hello

I'll add my thanks to Billy here too. I've never had the pleasure of corresponding, but I can tell you that his posts on the forums have solved many a head-banging problem for me over the last few months. So thanks to him and to all the regulars here.

I'd also like to chime in on that tutorial. It would be super! I have tried implementing something like it, and it works. However, it is timeline-driven and a very ugly thing indeed. :) It would be great to learn a more efficient way of approaching the problem.

Thanks again
Karen

I'm good at running fan clubs, Ricod. I volunteer. All I need is a few more pictures of Billy, preferably in sexy poses, and we'll be all set.

oh how about Helvetica Narrow 8pt - cause the black work really brings a tear to your eye!

Despite this, I volunteer to get the T done.

Hey maybe we should post a poll - who's got ink? How does that relate to flash - I have no idea.

"..he asked for a 13 but they drew a 31.."

will the 'Billy T' media promotion group be producing any merchandise?

perhaps some original 'Billy T' used green hats or a DIY 'Billy T' stick on goate's?
