Navagation through scenes using drop down menu

Im having problems linking between scenes when using a dropdown menu contained within a Movieclip. Ive tried using _root.gotoAndStop("Scene Name", 1);

but nothing happens.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. The *.fla file is attached.

try to avoid using scenes

lay it all out in one timeline and use frame labels as in the attached file

remember to search for your answer b4 posting
