Loading 2 movies at same time

Ok I have this problem where I want 2 movies to load at the same time as they are of the same images just split in two.

One movie is smaller than the other so loads before the other one.

I was thinking of checking both movies to see if they had loaded then pass a variable to php or javascript although I can't use querystrings, then check that both variables are set accordingly then play the movies.

Is this possible or is there another method? I am relatively new to Actionscript so any help would be appreciated.

That requires a main movie to load the other movies into doesn't it?

The problem I have is I want 3 rows, on the top row I want the small movie in the middle I want an html menu and on the third row I want the larger movie.

I have tried the creating one big movie and trying to position the movie below the nav div but I have only got this to work in IE so far, anyone know how to make it work in the other main browsers?
