pictures look good, but the overall logos and text look really rough

Yeah, You must change font.

I agree the overall look needs some polishing.
You could add a previous/next navigation buttons for the images.

i wouldnt use a dark blue background for the pics, just black like the rest of the site.
fonts...well, enough said, and i agree. take a look here (http://www.actionscript.org/tutorials/advanced/Typography_in_flash/index.shtml). i like/use pixel fonts (http://www.actionscript.org/tutorials/beginner/using_pixel_fonts/index.shtml)...
and the prev/next navigation issue, its worth to take a look at the tuts section, you will find plenty of help there.
