prlblem with text valiables

hi, I made a text valiable in a mc named "password". then load the mc to the _root. then send it to a ASP file after input. but the problem is, what ever I use "_root.mc:password" or "/mc:password",it not work , since i define "password=_root.mc:password" in the timeline , the film shows "password undefined" :( it can not find the text valiable of MC in root. my god, pls anybody help me ...thanx!!!

use:

_root.mc.password

without the "", "" means make this a string, to reference a variable you vant use a string!
