View Full Version : SWF Plays back too slow

I'm mostly finished a project and I thought it was working. I made sure that the files remain fairly small, mostly under 80kb. I tested it and works fine, on my main computer. I tried it on my 600Mhz 256MB, and the file chugs especially at full screen.
I have scrolling 15 bitmaps at the bottom that are constantly moving and the main swf calls on others to play on the stage and those other swfs calls on jpgs and text. I can send the file to those who think they can help.
Any ideas would be great.

what version of flash are you using? if you are using flash 8, try to look at the
cacheAsBitmap propertie...

I've looked into your suggestion. I'm going to give it a shot tonight. But from what I've read it seems like that feature is for vector images. But if it works for this that'd be great.
Thanks for the suggestion

ok, what i would do, is upload my img files, then copy them into some other mc with the attachBitmap i think this makes working with img files easyer...

I went to my office and tried "use runtime bitmap caching" and it actually doubled the work my processor is doing. It jumped from 7% to 15% according to Windows Task Manager (This computer is a lot faster then the 600MHz). I tried the actionscript "this.logos.cacheAsBitmap();" it did not get any better than the 7%.
