Okay when I made this file it ran through with some hesitations/stops in it but when you run it through for a second time it runs smoothly. Is there a way to "weed" these hesitations out or does the flash file always run like this the first time through.
I used a lot of motion tweens and some pics in the file.
the reason it is pausing is that it is loading the content as it is playing. therefore when it gets to a frame with a lot of content (bytes) it has to finish loading it b4 it can display the frame and move on (probably ur pics.
u can view how fast ur movie is loading compared to playing by testing and then choosing 'show streaming'. the green bar is how much has loaded and the other where the playhead is at.
it plays ok the second time as everything is cached on the users computer.
u can solve this by using a preloader. the preloader can stall your movie playing for a certain amount of frames or bytes so that u can work out when enought time has been given for all or enough content to have loaded to enable the playhead to play smoothly (ie never catch up with what has loaded).
search for preloaders in the forum. u will find lots of threads, or have a look at flashkit.com to see a few in action of d/l some examples.
cheers

It's the BANDWIDTH PROFILER not the 'show streaming'

Actually it's both isn't it? To see how your movie is being streamed you need to have the bandwidth profiler open, and then hit show streaming to actually view the file loading in. But that's just a tool to check your files so, Timberland, Farafiro and Bleeda are both saying the same thing - don't get confused :p
Timberland - "swonking" (aka preloading) your file should have done the job cos it does sound like a streaming issue, can you zip up your fla and post it here?

Yep and no
yes for healthy testing and
no for what Bleeda meant
:p
;)
i don't understand
i always do test movie, then choose show streaming. this gives me the percent loaded, the time it will take to load, and show me how my content is streaming in with 2 bars at the top.
is that not correct? seems to work for me1
