Hi Folks,
Quick question, hopefully this is in the right forum and i am not posting offtopic. Anyway, why does Adobe/Macromedia not produce a standalone FLV player? This puzzles me as I think this is an issue when it comes to FLV making headway as a good video format. I have just produced around 30 Flash 8 FLV (VP6) files to be used in an application but I want the videos to be added to a repository for other users to download and view themselves without having to download an swf file as well to view it. I know there are 3rd party standalone players available but it beats me why macromedia did not create one? Were they wanting uptake of their file format by other non-proprietry players? I am also looking for a mac/OSX standalone player for flash 8 FLV's, any out there?
Cheers
Steve
