View Full Version : How to edit image in flash?

Hi,

Am unsure on how to erase the background of the image in flash? I tried the magic wand tool and others. It doesnt seem to work.

Anybody can help me? :o

I don't know that I agree completely with that statement. I'm not sure what the original poster is trying to accomplish, but I have had great success importing a graphic, using the trace bitmap functionality that Flash provides to convert the raster image into a vector image and then I select and delete the background. Not as crisp as a bitmap .. but it scales nicely.

For most cases I delete the background using a seperate graphics tool. (in my case, Paint Shop Pro)

Now ... if the OP will just point me to that magic wand they were talking about ...

If you do the trace on the image, you sure can edit the image file, but the problem with that is that the overall file size of the SWF file becomes fairly big, at least in my case, so I don't normally use it unless the image is really small...
In overall, it's best to edit the image file from the other application like Photoshop and have it updated in Flash...

I agree completly Cyan. Complex graphics can become vector pigs .. no doubt. This is why it would be nice to know what the OP was trying to accomplish. Sometimes a vector just fits the bill
