Appending a video stream at a particular point

Hello folks

I want to know if it possible to append an output video stream starting from a particular point of the already recorded stream rather than from the end of the current stream..

For example , at first i recorded a video stream. then suppose i want to continue recording from the half point of the first recorded stream instead of continuing recording from last point of the first recorded stream.. what is the actionscript for that?

Is this possible? If not any workarounds for this solution.. Can you guys please suggest any method
