Question Pausing video at certain points, until pressing key

I have a problem with a video imported to Flash, where I want it to automatically pause (or stop) at certain points in time, or at special frames if that is easier.

Now how would I go about doing this? I think it sounds like a fairly simple funtion but I have searched the web and a lot of forums but not found the answer.

The ideal would be if the pause could last until I hit the space-bar, instead of creating a timer that sets it for a few seconds...

Any ideas..?

I would use cue points. Put the cue points in your video and listen for them. When a cuepoint is hit, pause the video. Then listen for the space bar, and when its pressed, resume the video.

You can google and find lots of tutorials on using cuepoints in as3 and flash video, such as this one:
