I visit so many Flash sites and most of them are run by some fellow who wants to show you all the neat spinning and twirling effects he's learned from studying 100 open source, so the intros go for 30 seconds and are full of crap I've seen before.
In my opinion, a great intro is:
- Colorful
- Engaging and maybe interactive (maybe not)
- Fast paced
- Audible, but not over the top
- Optional! (With a skip button)
Still one of the best Intros I've ever seen resides at
www.eye4u.com . Watch it in IE in FullScreen mode (F11) and see what I mean.
