Default Help with FlashVars Navigation

I am confused.

This is what I need to do. I need to create a nav system in Flash MX 2004 to loads the flashvars variable into the _root that triggers the hit state of my button mc.

My goal is to create one swf for multiple dynamic pages. I have seen examples where you set the flashvars variable for each page, hand coding the paraname and embed tags for each html page. Is there a way to set the flashvars or retrieve the variable by setting the flashvars only once, ie, on the home page.

How do I get that variable that comes after index.html?content=home

If you visit, http://www.brandamp.biz

You can see the nav system i am trying to create. I had to make 6 seperate swf files to keep the hit states on refresh. It is a pain to maintain. Someone please help me understand.

Thanks....
