Hi guys

i've just downloaded flash player6 only to start reading
about streaming problems. i hope you don't mind but i'm
copying and pasting these comments from two news groups as

oh man..

after reading your post, I took a look at my flash5 format jukebox
which has externally loaded in streaming format for the sounds.

It USED to work great.. people could listen to half a song, then click
another song, and it would start streaming that song..

Now with the Flash MX plugin in my browser, it doesn't do that at all!
it just sits there until the other song is completely downloaded THEN
starts to load the current song.

The songs are getting loaded into 1 movieclip, so it should replace
the other song immediately on request to play a new song.. but it
doesnt!!!

This is a horrible bug and really needs a patch.. how come no comments
from Macromedia on this?

And if this isn't a bug but a feature, I would have thought MM's
plugins would be backwards compatible to the previous version of their
software!!

Macromedias response is unbelievable. The impact on Flash is huge if the
majority of web users realise having the flash 6 plugin loaded is likely to
hog their bandwidth.

You are lucky in you can control what player is in use by your viewers - the
internet however is a totally different issue though and as more and more
have their player upgraded the problems will grow.

The biggest issue is that the new player continues to download the swf even
when you have left the url! Doesnt take many sites with flash components to
bog down your download queue!
