Using a button in flash to open a file

Ok, I have no idea what I am doing. I have created a button in flash... When clicked, I want it to open a file folder that is located in the same folder as my .swf file, but in a new window. Can somebody please help me? Thanks

You can try using: getURL("www.yourlink.com", "_blank");

Here is an excellent tutorial that will show you how to do it. Don't be afraid to post with questions if you don't understand something in it.

Thank you for the reply.. I understand how to make the button open a website.. let me explain my project a little more..

I am using flash to make a "menu page" that will have buttons. I want each button to open a different folder, for example a "music" button that will open a folder in a new window containing .mp3s.

My .swf file and all of the folders that I want to be able to open will be on a thumb drive and the .swf file ("menu page") will autorun when it is plugged into a usb port.

I have no problem making the page look good.. but making it function is proving to be a challenge =/
