Default changing mouse pointer for over state of buttons

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if it's possible to specify what the mouse pointer will be when people mouse-over buttons. I want it to remain a pointer instead of changing to the little hand.

-cheers,
Luke

read tutorials about custom cursors (their in the flash help).
In the cursor movieclip, make the other state/shape of the mouse. (The original state is the one in the first frame. The second frame has the "other" state/shape).
Add stop(); in the first frame, and the second frame.
Put the cursor movieclip on the stage.
Name its instance name to, let's say, "mouse" (for example).

Then, add
ActionScript Code:
on(rollOver){ _root.mouse.goToandStop(2); }
on the button (put this code on the button on the stage, not in its frames).

I might have code mistakes, but you get the idea...

Yep, no worries. I was actually hoping for a setting that forced the pointer to remain a pointer, but I can achieve the same result using your example....just takes more time.

I just wish there is easy way to accomplish this... For example, you can do that in one line in Director... I don't see why this can't be applied in Flash... Oh, well... As long as there is a way to do it...
