Switching from Stencyl to Flash.
I have decided to say good bye to Stencyl for now so I can learn AS3. I already have a pretty basic knowledge of AS3, so now I am trying to get to the intermediate stage. So I have a couple of questions.
-When creating a level in Stencyl it is extremely easy. You just drag, and drop the tiles in the places you desire. How to do you build maps in Flash? Would you just drag the movieclips on to the stage, and start from there?
-To make walls in Stenyl you just make a collision box, and it is all good, and dandy. For Flash what do you do? Say hitTestObject() for the wall, and then have a reaction?
-To make the camera follow a player in Stencyl you just drag set the camera to the actor. How would you make the camera follow a player in flash?
All of these are pretty basic things that would help me in my game. I would stick with Stencyl if it was easier to use socket servers with it, but sadly it is not. So I know I am trying to learn AS3 to where I am as good with Adobe Flash as I was with Stencyl.
