Sorry for my NewBe question - Is it possible to tie a flex 2 application to an Access DB, if so, does someone have an example or explaination?

directly, i dount access supports what you need. via a serverside script yes. i would advise you to look at actionscript2 tutorials and adapt the same notion to flex.
