Default Adobe at NAB in Vegas

Well, this week I was at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) trade show in Vegas and Adobe had a big booth. They didn't have anyone demoing Flex 2 but I spoke with a few people about it anyhow.

One thing I asked about was an apparent bug in the Flash player beta that seems to be an endless loop that sucks down CPU. They said this was a known problem triggered by certian AS3 code. He didn't know when the fix would be out other than "soon."

Discussing Flex 2 with them was fun even though they were not there to demo it. I'm looking forward to the release.

I can recreate it by starting my flash app and letting it run for a while. The Adobe guy told me there was a particular construct in AS3 that caused it but he did not remember what it is. My app spends all it time receiving data on an XML socket and rendering that data.

I demoed my app at NAB. People liked it.
